The UN has learned of "very, very serious" allegations that the United States is secretly detaining terrorism suspects in various locations around the world, notably aboard prison ships, the UN's special rapporteur on terrorism said.
While the accusations were rumours, rapporteur Manfred Nowak said the situation was sufficiently serious to merit an official inquiry.
"There are very, very serious accusations that the United States is maintaining secret camps, notably on ships," the Austrian UN official told AFP, adding that the vessels were believed to be in the Indian Ocean region.

We get news here and there about prisoners being sent to different locations so that they can be tortured and interrogated the way that Bush administration,deems appropriate ....my question is what in the world are our congressional leaders doing about this other than holding committee meetings to investigate these allegations,why don't they get off their duffs and in a secretive mode fly out to a couple of these alleged camps or ships that have suuposedly been or are being used as detention camps and interrogating the people who are acussed of being the enemies of this nation and determined to over turn Iraq and bring harm to out mainland,I wonder how many Republican congressman would go along with such as this. T.A.
